Life onboard can be very challenging, but with the right support, good comradery, and free internet to stay connected to loved ones, it can be a great experience. We offer medical insurance coverage for the family, mental health and wellness programs, life insurance, delicious and healthy meals, financial wellbeing including an attractive long-term savings plan, and more.

Working with Mayfair and the Integrity Cell of Robus Insurance, Scorpio provides seafarers and their families with tailored health & medical coverage, plus, life insurance for the seafarer.
Psychologists are available 24/7 to give support and one-to-one conversations prior to and after joining the vessel. There is easy access to these services on-board all our vessels.
We offer a voluntary long-term savings program for all Scorpio crew, providing financial wellbeing through access to a beneficial investment program for medium to long-term life events such as marriage, land/house purchase, children’s education, or retirement. Scorpio will match the seafarer’s contributions, up to 3% of their salary.
All of our galley staff are trained by our partner, Oceanic, on various health-related areas, including nutrition, international culinary skills, and menu planning based on the WHO’s dietary guidelines.
The optional ShipMoney digital cards are a safe alternative to cash advance, usable anytime to withdraw money from ATMs, to send money to family, recharge mobile phones, etc.
All Scorpio Seafarers have complementary internet access with the new high-speed, global Starlink Satellite Network while onboard.
Scorpio Seafarers have complementary airport lounge access during international journeys that incur layovers exceeding three hours.
Scorpio’s crew members are proudly represented by the International Transport Workers’ Federation (ITF), which is committed to protecting the rights and well-being of transport workers globally. The ITF addresses crucial issues like job security, employment conditions, and safety in the transport industry.
We also prioritize following the guidelines set by the International Labour Organization (ILO), which aim to uphold fundamental worker rights, promote fair employment opportunities, enhance social protection, and encourage constructive dialogue on maritime work issues.
At Scorpio, we highly value our women seafarers and prioritize gender diversity onboard. Our focus includes recruiting women cadets, providing equal opportunities, and enhancing the offshore experience. Additionally, in collaboration with the International Maritime Organization (IMO), we encourage women to pursue careers in maritime through female cadet programs.

Each vessel features recreational rooms with board games, video games, table tennis, and many vessels have basketball courts. Scorpio Seafarers enjoy free public computers with Wi-Fi to stay connected with loved ones and we also support family visits and sailing, subject to conditions.
